The Digital Matrix News: Gen Con Interview with Longbow Games

Our Master, the wise and powerful Nate filed his Gen Con report:

While walking up and down the vast isles of the massive beast that is Gen Con, I managed to pick out a few places of interest.  One above most seemed to call out to me.  The sounds of metal clanging against metal followed by the roar of a mass of troops told me I was close to something of interest. Standing before me defiantly was a man dressed in a toga, wearing a leafy crown like someone important.  Battles were raging to the left and right of him as soldiers thrust their spears and javelins at their opposition. A war was being fought.  A war for ancient Greece.

I was able to meet the fine people at longbow games (www.longbowgames.com).  At the con, they were here displaying their new real time strategy war game called Hegemony: Phillip of Macedon. Boasting over 100 historical objectives, you are to lead your army and crush whatever stands in your way.  On land or on sea the war can be fought any way you choose.  An added bonus? Capture your enemies and make them work for you in your very own slave camps. We have a brief interview with the Lead Programmer Rob McConnell to give you a little more incite into the game.

But there’s  more great news.  Check out the demo here www.longbowgames.com/hegemony and if you wish to purchase the game, Rob let us extend to you a little gift.  Use the Coupon Code: HOPLITE on your order and save an extra 15% off your order.  Hurry though, the offer expires on Aug. 31, 2010.
